Product Description:
The 13.F5.L1D-Y00F is an AC axis drive manufactured by KEB as part of the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The unit serves as a variable-frequency inverter that modulates line voltage and frequency so industrial controllers can match motor speed and torque to process demands. By combining motor feedback, brake energy handling, and fieldbus-ready signaling in one chassis, it supports coordinated motion control for conveyors, formers, and packaging stations. Because it integrates power conversion and encoder processing in one unit, the drive is suited to axes that require coordinated acceleration, deceleration, and repeatable positioning.
Inside the size 13 enclosure, the drive accepts a mains supply protected by a 25 A main fuse and draws an input rated current of 17 A. Internally, IGBTs switch at 2 kHz, producing an output apparent power of 8.3 kVA and a continuous output current of 12 A. Heat is transferred through a dedicated heat sink, and operation is permitted until the sink surface reaches 90 °C. The IP20 housing prevents finger ingress and requires installation in a closed control cabinet with forced airflow. An integrated braking transistor routes excess regenerative energy to an external resistor, and the encoder interface uses the Hiperface protocol for absolute position feedback.
The drive supports motors up to 7.5 HP at 230 V and can absorb regenerative peaks up to 15 A without external choppers, provided the braking resistor is at least 56 Ω. Auxiliary speed or position pulses are available as TTL signals for PLC capture, and the feedback channel supports closed-loop speed and position control. Operation is permitted up to 2,000 m above sea level when cabinet airflow is maintained. This arrangement lets the controller receive pulse outputs while the drive processes encoder data internally.
