Product Description:
The 13.F5.G1D-3900 from KEB is part of the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. This three-phase inverter regulates AC motors on production lines, allowing speed and torque adjustment through PWM switching. By integrating drive, braking, and protective functions in a compact housing, it provides dedicated axis control for installations that need precise power conversion and dynamic braking. PWM operation lets the controller vary motor voltage and frequency with changing load demand. That makes the unit suitable for conveyors, mixers, and other rotating machinery that require controlled acceleration, steady running speed, and managed deceleration.
The drive contains a DC-link capacitor bank totaling 580 µF, which stabilizes the intermediate circuit during load changes and helps smooth brief voltage variation inside the power stage. When supplied from a three-phase 400 VAC/DC source, the unit draws a rated input current of 17 A and delivers 12 A continuously to the motor. This corresponds to a rated output power of 8.3 kVA for compatible motor loads. The internal IGBT bridge switches at a rated frequency of 4 kHz, and the inverter includes a braking transistor so regenerated energy can be dissipated through an external resistor. No encoder feedback card is installed, so the option slot remains open. The inverter uses size code 13, with a height of 296 mm and a depth of 180.5 mm without the terminal cover.
For transient events, the switching frequency can be increased to 16 kHz, and short bursts of 21.6 A are permitted within an overcurrent ceiling of 25.9 A to protect the power stage. The integrated brake chopper can sink up to 15 A through a resistor network with a minimum impedance of 56 Ω, which helps prevent DC-link overvoltage during rapid deceleration and supports braking of returning loads. The 90 mm width and the weight of 2.8 kg help the drive fit narrow control panels while keeping mounting load moderate.
