Product Description:
The 12.F5.GBD.YM00 axis inverter is produced by KEB and belongs to the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It is an AC drive built for variable-frequency control of three-phase induction or synchronous motors used in industrial transport, forming, and process lines. By modulating the supply frequency and voltage, the unit allows programmers to match motor torque and speed to dynamic load requirements, reducing energy consumption and mechanical stress. All power semiconductors, control logic, and braking components are housed in a compact enclosure for panel installation.
During continuous operation, the drive accepts a three-phase input of 400 V and draws a rated input current of 13 A to deliver 9.5 A on the motor side. At this loading, apparent output power reaches 6.6 kVA. The built-in IGBT bridge switches at a carrier frequency selectable up to 16 kHz, while 8 kHz is the factory setting for balanced efficiency and acoustic performance. For short load peaks, the current can rise momentarily to 17 A, and the inverter supports motors up to 5 HP. Thermal monitoring limits the heat sink temperature to 90 °C, helping keep the power semiconductors within their operating range. The model code identifies the unit as size 12 within the F5 axis drive lineup.
Braking energy is handled internally, and DC-bus current is capped at 10 A. External resistors must not fall below 82 Ω to prevent excessive dissipation, and line protection is provided through a recommended 20 A main fuse. The enclosure carries an IP20 protection class suited for cabinet installation away from conductive dust or moisture. The unit is supplied without an encoder feedback card, making it appropriate for open-loop V/f or sensorless vector applications. Motor leads up to 2.5 mm² in cross-section fit the power terminals, which supports straightforward wiring in compact control cabinets.
