Product Description:
KEB's 12.F5.GBD-YM00 is an inverter from the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Mounted in a cabinet, it converts three-phase mains power into a variable output for speed and torque control of induction or synchronous motors on conveyors, fillers, and other industrial axes. By varying output frequency and voltage, the unit supports controlled acceleration, deceleration, and steady-state operation under changing load conditions. In an automated cell, it links to PLC logic and braking elements to manage motion and energy flow while conserving panel space. The housing uses size code 12 within the series.
The drive operates from a three-phase input of 400 VAC with a continuous line current of 13 A, and it provides a continuous output current of 9.5 A to the connected motor. That output supports motors up to 5 HP before derating is required. The heat sink has a temperature limit of 90 °C, and the enclosure is rated IP20, so the unit should be installed in a clean, ventilated cabinet. The power section can supply 17 A for short durations to support startup torque, and a 20 A main fuse protects the supply circuit.
During braking, the unit trips at 21 A to protect the output stage. For dynamic stops, it can route 10 A into an external resistor with a minimum resistance of 82 Ω. A 24 V auxiliary supply provides 100 mA for sensor power, and eight digital inputs handle run, jog, and fault commands from the controller. Two analog inputs and two analog outputs support speed references and feedback scaling when fieldbus cards are absent, and no encoder feedback card is installed in this version, so position loops rely on the drive's current and voltage models. This arrangement supports basic local I/O integration for variable-speed applications that do not require encoder-based position feedback.
