12.F5.G1B-3500 is a KEB frequency inverter from the F5 series. This series of inverters is manufactured for control of step less industrial AC motors. The inverters produce AC output at very precise amplitude and frequency. The power supply chain of the inverter includes a rectifier for AC to DC conversion, a DC link, and an inverter for DC to AC conversion. This particular inverter is designed for operation with AC or DC input at 400 Volts. Double conversion – AC to DC and DC to AC – is required when it is connected to AC input. Single conversion, DC to AC, is required when it is converted to DC input. The rated output power for the inverter is 6.6 kVA. Motors with 4 kilowatts power rating can be connected to its output. The default switching frequency is 4 kilohertz.
The maximum motor line length permitted by KEB at 4 kilohertz is 50 meters and the minimum required motor line cross-sectional area is 2.5 mm2. The 12.F5.G1B-3500 inverter comes in an IP20 rated housing designed for vertical mounting. Rated output is dependent on a number of factors that include ambient temperature and humidity. KEB recommends maximum 95% humidity and -10 to 45 degrees temperature. Operation of the inverter outside these limits leads to output derating, and can also lead to equipment malfunction. During operation and storage, the inverter must be protected from dust, liquids, and corrosive gases. The unit carries high voltages and currents, and therefore only qualified personnel should handle and install it. For proper ventilation, KEB recommends providing at least 100 millimeters of spacing on the top and bottom sides of the working inverter unit.
