KEB manufactures the 12.F5.C3B-YA00 inverter in its F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The unit is intended for speed and torque regulation of three-phase induction or synchronous motors in industrial automation lines when closed-loop encoder feedback is not required. By modulating the supplied AC voltage and frequency, the drive lets machine builders match motor performance to process demand in conveyors, packaging stations, and similar equipment. Because no encoder feedback card is fitted, speed control relies on sensorless algorithms, which suits applications that need variable motor speed without a separate feedback device.
The drive operates from a three-phase supply of 400 VAC and draws a nominal line current of 13 A. On the motor side, it delivers a continuous output current of 9.5 A, which corresponds to 6.6 kVA apparent power and supports machines up to 5 HP. Frequency synthesis ranges from zero to 599 Hz, enabling both low-speed operation and high-speed spindle duties. Compliance with the IP20 protection class helps prevent accidental contact, but the unit still requires installation in a clean enclosure. Size code 12 indicates the mechanical frame and heat-sink capacity, an integrated EMI filter reduces conducted interference on the mains, and a maximum main fuse rating of 20 A protects the input bus while an internal overcurrent trip point of 21 A disconnects the drive before semiconductor damage occurs.
