Product Description:
The 12.F5.A1D-LAEA is an axis inverter drive supplied by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It functions as the power and control stage between a programmable controller and a three-phase motor, allowing closed-loop speed or torque regulation in automated machinery such as conveyors, winders, and material-handling stations. By integrating the power section, control electronics, and onboard diagnostics into one bookshelf housing, the unit simplifies motor integration on production lines and test benches.
The standard control board provides one differential analog input converted with 11-bit resolution, allowing incremental reference commands without introducing coarse steps. Internal logic updates the five PNP-referenced digital inputs, two open-collector outputs, analog I/O, and relay contact every 1 ms, so command changes reach the motor control system with minimal delay. All control wiring connects to seventeen numbered terminals, while a preinstalled braking transistor diverts regenerated energy during rapid deceleration. The electronics are contained in an IP20 enclosure that protects against accidental contact with internal components, and incoming sensor states are accepted through the PNP input interface for compatibility with sourcing field devices.
Continuous motor output is supported up to 5 HP, matching typical mid-frame induction or servo motors used on auxiliary machine axes. Two programmable outputs use an open-collector topology, allowing them to operate optically isolated indicators or compatible high-side interface modules. An independent relay channel is rated at 30 VDC / 1 A for run-enable or fault signaling tasks that require galvanic separation from the control bus. Protective functions include earth-fault and short-circuit monitoring, while the housing type D mechanical frame corresponds to inverter size code 12 and supports an orderly panel layout.
