The 12.56.20A-3389 is an AC axis inverter manufactured by KEB as part of the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts fixed utility power into regulated three-phase output so packaging machines, gantry pick-and-place systems, and material-handling stations can modulate motor speed and torque electronically. Acting as the power bridge between a motion controller and its motor, the drive supplies precisely timed electrical waveforms required for coordinated positioning and consistent process throughput.
On the line side, the inverter accepts three-phase input at 380/400/415 V AC and operates across a power-grid frequency range of 50/60 Hz. Under nominal load, it conducts 9.5 A, so KEB specifies a feeder fuse of 20 A for circuit protection. Internal semiconductor fuses F1, F2, and F3 are rated at 600 V / 16 A, 500 V / 10 A, and 500 V / 1 A to disconnect the DC link if a fault occurs. The unit has inverter size code 12 and housing form factor A. Because the enclosure has a protection level of IP00, it must be mounted inside a ventilated cabinet.
