Product Description:
The 12.56.200-A349 is an axis inverter released by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. As a regenerative drive controller, it can manage coordinated machine axes that use induction or servo motors. The unit converts three-phase line energy into controlled AC output so position, velocity, and torque loops can be closed through its integrated processor and available fieldbus options. Its regenerative design also allows braking energy from decelerating loads to be routed back through the drive system instead of being treated only as waste heat.
An auxiliary signal channel is provided in TTL logic level, allowing high-speed status pulses to reach PLC counters without additional level shifting. Internal fans move 0.5 m3/min of cooling air across the power stack, and the housing depth of 210 mm helps the unit fit into compact control cabinets. Electrical capacity is matched to motors up to 5 HP, while the power stage carries a continuous line current of 16.5 A and a rated apparent power of 6.6 kVA. Incoming mains must be three-phase and protected by a 25 A fuse, and cabinet wiring should use conductors no smaller than 4 mm². A UVW incremental encoder interface is available for commutation feedback and speed regulation at the drive level, which supports stable operation on axes that need repeatable motor response.
The enclosure weighs 11.0 kg, and its rectangular frame mounts directly to a backplate for fixed cabinet installation. Clearance of 50 mm at the sides and 100 mm above the heat sink should be maintained so airflow is not restricted during operation. The protection category is IP00, so the device must be installed inside a closed electrical cabinet to prevent direct contact with energized parts. Operation is permitted up to 3000 m above sea level without derating below that altitude. Inverter size code 12 identifies the mechanical footprint within the F5 family and supports matching accessory placement within the same platform.
