Product Description:
The 12.F5.A1D-Y1BA is an AC drive produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. As an inverter, it converts constant-frequency mains power into variable voltage and frequency for motor control, enabling precise speed and torque regulation on automated conveyors, gantries, and process lines. Its built-in control board and fieldbus options let it interface directly with PLC commands and close the loop with resolver feedback during positioning and speed-control cycles.
It operates from a three-phase 400 V AC input or a compatible rectified supply, delivering up to 5 HP of mechanical power to the connected motor. Pulse patterns are switched at 4 kHz, a carrier frequency that supports moderate acoustic performance while limiting switching losses. Eight digital inputs are refreshed every 1 ms, and two analog references are sampled with 12-bit resolution for fine setpoint scaling. Complementary outputs include two analog channels generated by a 3.4 kHz PWM with 10-bit depth, two digital outputs sharing 50 mA, and a 24 V, 100 mA auxiliary source for sensors. These analog outputs can transmit operating values to external meters or control systems. A resolver or initiator interface supplies position data, while the Standard board routes serial or CAN traffic to the host PLC. The unit has size code 12, variant B, and an internal braking transistor.
Short bursts of up to 125% of rated current are tolerated for acceleration, but an overcurrent trip activates at 150% to safeguard the IGBTs. Excess regenerative energy is dissipated through the internal transistor and the GTR7 braking chopper, preventing DC-bus overvoltage during motor deceleration. The front-mounted LCD Operator displays operating status, parameter numbers, and faults without requiring external tools. Its accessible position supports direct viewing during local setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
