Product Description:
The 12.F5.A1D-LADA axis drive is built by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series and is intended to regulate three-phase induction or synchronous motors in coordinated motion applications. The unit is suited to machinery that requires controlled acceleration, deceleration, and steady-speed operation from a cabinet-mounted inverter. Inverter size code 12 identifies the mechanical frame and current rating, and the chassis mounting format allows direct installation in a control cabinet. A Standard Board control section handles feedback and parameter storage, and version D includes built-in diagnostic channels. Protection during faults is enhanced by integrated earth-fault and short-circuit monitoring, and a braking transistor is installed to dissipate regenerative energy.
The enclosure is rated to IP20, so it is touch-safe when mounted inside a sealed rack but not suited for washdown areas. The drive can energize motors up to 5 HP, matching small conveyors, pump stations, or positioning axes. Its housing depth of 181 mm assists in compact panel layouts while still leaving room for cable bends. Pulse-width modulation can be set as high as 16 kHz for lower audible noise, although the rated switching frequency is 8 kHz, which balances thermal loss with current ripple. An LCD operator with serial or CAN connectivity provides parameter access and a peak-output readout during setup. This arrangement supports local status viewing without adding a separate external display.
The drive has an overall height of 250 mm and a width of 90 mm, so adjacent modules can share standard cabinet spacing without blocking airflow. Continuous operation is supported from -10 to 45 °C, while storage is permissible down to -25 °C and up to 70 °C. Electromagnetic emission falls under C1, which suits residential or light-industrial installations when proper filtering is applied.
