The 10.F5.K1D-3BEA is an AC/DC inverter drive produced by KEB and assigned to the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It is intended for closed-loop speed and torque control of small-to-medium servo or induction motors on single machine axes, integrating a safety control board and an internal braking transistor so that deceleration energy can be handled without an external chopper. By converting fixed-frequency mains power into a variable-frequency, variable-voltage output, the unit enables precise acceleration, deceleration, and positioning tasks in industrial automation lines.
The drive accepts a three-phase 400 V AC/DC supply, a level commonly present in European plant distribution systems, and translates it into a nominal output power of 4.0 kVA. Under continuous operation, the inverter can deliver 5.8 A of phase current, and it is protected upstream by an inert fuse not exceeding 16 A. With an IP20 enclosure, the housing is vented and intended for installation inside a switch cabinet where no direct liquid ingress occurs. The resolver plus incremental feedback interface supplies rotor position signals to the control board while also providing a quadrature output for external counters or PLCs. A built-in GTR 7 braking transistor allows regenerated energy to be routed to a resistor so that the DC-link voltage stays within allowable limits.
Switching devices are gated at 16 kHz, minimizing motor noise and improving current tracking accuracy. Fast electronic protection trips the drive when line current reaches 12.5 A, and additional margin is available for torque surges through a short-time current capability of 10.4 A. The thermal design supports an ambient range of -10 to 45 °C without derating, provided cabinet airflow meets KEB guidelines. The safety board supports STO functionality, and the resolver interface is used for closed-loop vector control.
