The 10.F5.G1B-3A00 drive is an AC inverter module produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts mains power into a variable-frequency output so industrial motors can follow speed or torque commands from a PLC. By integrating current regulation, fault monitoring, and optional fieldbus add-ons, it serves as the actuator interface in packaging lines, material-handling gantries, and process machinery. Optional fieldbus add-ons also allow the unit to fit different control architectures without changing its basic power stage.
The inverter accepts a three-wire mains connection at 400 V AC, and its control section is rated for a continuous phase current of 5.8 A. During rapid acceleration or braking, it can supply up to 12.5 A for short durations, providing margin for transient overloads. The carrier is factory-set to an 8 kHz switching frequency that balances acoustic noise and thermal loss, and it can be raised to 16 kHz when smoother current waveforms are needed. An internal braking transistor dissipates regenerated energy into an external resistor. The omitted encoder feedback card means speed feedback must be handled through the motor's own tacho or by open-loop estimates. Size code 10 identifies the frame dimensions and cable terminal pattern, and Housing B is the mechanical depth used in multi-axis cabinets. This layout supports integration in compact cabinets where terminal access and enclosure depth need to remain consistent across adjacent modules.
The drive is housed in an IP20 enclosure intended for installation inside a protected electrical cabinet. Its electromagnetic emissions meet the limits of C1, so nearby control components and sensors are less likely to be affected by conducted noise. A 3-phase AC mains feed allows the module to energize induction or synchronous motors up to 3 HP. It is intended for enclosed panel installations where airflow and physical protection are provided by the surrounding cabinet.
