The 10.F5.B3B-1A0A is an AC axis drive produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Designed for cabinet mounting, the unit converts constant mains power into a variable three-phase output so that induction or synchronous motors can be accelerated, decelerated, or held at a fixed process speed without mechanical throttling. By combining power electronics, braking circuitry, and electromagnetic interference suppression in one housing, it serves as a compact motion component for conveyors, mixers, and general industrial machinery.
The drive connects to a three-phase 400 V AC/DC supply. With a rated input current of 8 A, it delivers 5.8 A to the motor and provides an apparent output of 4 kVA for applications up to 3 HP. A 345 µF DC-link capacitor smooths the bus, and the insulated-gate transistors switch at 8 kHz to limit current ripple and audible noise. Internal power losses remain at 120 W under nominal loading. The inverter uses size code 10 and housing form factor B, allowing the module to share mounting footprints with other Combivert F5 units. A built-in braking transistor and EMI filter reduce the number of external components required for installation.
Control is provided by the BASIC open-loop flux vector control algorithm, which delivers speed regulation without encoder feedback. A preinstalled brake chopper can divert up to 10 A into an external braking resistor with a minimum resistance of 82 Ω, while charging inrush is limited to 62 A. Protective coordination begins with a 16 A gG fuse, and the instantaneous trip point is 12.5 A. The short-time current rating is 10.4 A and is further restricted by a time-based limit of 180 percent. The hardware overcurrent ceiling is 216 percent of the nominal current, allowing the power stage to accommodate dynamic load changes while remaining within its operating limits.
