Product Description:
The 10.F5.B1B-3900 is an inverter-based axis drive produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. This unit converts fixed mains power into variable voltage and frequency for AC motors, allowing coordinated speed and torque control on a single machine axis. In automated lines, the drive provides closed-loop regulation, braking energy handling, and integrated I/O so motion sequences can stay synchronized with PLC commands. It is suited for systems that need both power conversion and responsive axis control in one unit.
It operates from a three-phase 400 V AC/DC input supply and modulates the output with a carrier set at 4 kHz, which balances motor acoustics with thermal loading on the power stage. For dynamic loads, the inverter can deliver up to 180% of its nominal current for short intervals and trips at 216% to protect the semiconductor bridge from sustained overcurrent. Control tasks are refreshed on a 2 ms I/O scan cycle, allowing tight velocity and position loops when connected to fieldbus modules. The power section is rated for motors up to 3 HP, and the built-in braking transistor directs regenerative energy to an external resistor during rapid deceleration.
Seventeen terminals provide connections for control, sensing, and feedback signals. The single analog input is digitized at 11-bit resolution, and one analog output is available for drive status or speed-reference sharing. The drive has five digital input channels that accept PNP signals for enable, direction, or limit commands, while two relay outputs report fault or ready states to the host controller. An internal control rail of 24 V DC powers the logic circuit, so no external 24-volt source is required. No encoder feedback card is fitted, so position information must come from open-loop operation or external sensing methods, which helps keep inverter size code 10 compact for cabinets.
