The 10.F5.ABD-3AEA is an axis drive module produced by KEB and positioned within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The hardware is intended for closed-loop speed and position control of AC induction or servo motors in industrial automation cells. By combining power conversion, feedback processing, and field I/O into one frame, the drive streamlines cabinet wiring and allows direct integration with PLC motion sequences in conveyors, pick-and-place stations, and packaging machines.
To match common European mains, the unit accepts a three-phase 400 V AC/DC supply and is labeled with inverter size code 10 for mechanical interchange within the series. Its general motor output is limited to 3 HP, and a Standard Board is preinstalled to provide the default control functions. Protection is handled electrically: during rapid transients the short-time current may rise to 180%, while hardware overcurrent trips are set at 216% of nominal to isolate faults. The output stage switches at an 8 kHz carrier frequency, balancing acoustic noise against motor heating, and this frequency is commanded by the microcontroller without user modification.
The drive communicates with surrounding control layers through 8 digital inputs, 2 analog outputs, and two unpowered digital outputs for status signaling. Two relay outputs supplement these channels when galvanic isolation is necessary. Resolver feedback reaches the control board through a D-Sub 15-pole connector, while an auxiliary D-Sub 9-pole port accepts a TTL incremental encoder. Both sensors can draw from the built-in 5.2 V, 500 mA line or the separate 170 mA Uvar feed, and cable runs up to 50 m are permitted without signal conditioning. Up to 8 parameter sets are stored internally, allowing quick changeover between motor types or product recipes without external memory devices.
