The 10.F5.ABD-2BEA axis inverter is manufactured by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Designed for decentralized motion control, it converts fixed input power into the variable voltage and frequency required to regulate induction or synchronous motors on individual machining or conveying axes. The housing follows inverter size code 10, giving a compact footprint for panel installation, and integrated ground-fault as well as short-circuit monitoring improves operational safety when the drive is wired into automated production lines.
It draws power from a three-wire or five-wire supply rated at 50/60 Hz and delivers a continuous phase output of 10 A. For acceleration or transient load steps, the inverter can surge to 180% of that value for a limited duration, while its overcurrent trip point is fixed at 216% to protect semiconductor stages and connected cabling. Pulse-width modulation is generated at a carrier frequency of 16 kHz, which reduces audible motor noise and improves current resolution in low-speed regions. The enclosure carries an IP20 rating, so it is intended for installation inside a closed control cabinet where foreign-object entry is already limited.
The drive has a motor capacity of 3 HP, so it suits pumps, small conveyors, and auxiliary axes that do not exceed this mechanical load. The input circuit accepts 1-/3-phase 230 V AC/DC power, allowing the same unit to be wired to single-phase test benches or three-phase plant power without tap changes. Motion feedback is handled through a Standard Board that accommodates resolver or TTL encoders through dual-format 15-pin / 9-pin D-Sub sockets. Continuous surveillance for ground faults and short-circuit events complements the existing inverter size 10 thermal model to keep the system within safe current and temperature limits during everyday service.
