The 10.F5.A1D-YP10 is an inverter drive produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into variable output for synchronous or asynchronous motors, allowing speed and torque regulation in automated production lines, packaging cells, and material-handling stations. Inside the inverter, a standard control board supervises power conversion for motors rated up to 3 HP.
The input section draws a rated current of 8 A from three-phase mains and should be protected by a 16 A gL/gG fuse. After rectification and DC-link processing, the output bridge supplies 5.8 A of sinusoidal current and delivers a continuous apparent power of 4.0 kVA. Brief accelerations can draw 10.4 A of short-term current before an overcurrent trip occurs at 12.5 A. A C1 EMC line filter is built in so cabinet wiring meets residential emission limits. The inverter also carries a braking transistor that routes surplus energy into an external resistor when the motor regenerates. The assembly has an IP20 protection rating, meaning live parts are guarded against finger access, but the enclosure must be mounted in a dry control cabinet. The power electronics can operate until the heat sink reaches 90 °C.
The DC-link electronics dissipate 130 W during nominal operation, while total system losses reach 140 W when the inverter is fully loaded. The integrated braking transistor can deliver up to 10 A to an external discharge path, provided the resistor is rated at no less than 82 Ω; this arrangement prevents DC-bus overvoltage during rapid deceleration. Because no encoder feedback card is installed, the drive relies on sensorless control or resolver-based speed information supplied through the connected controller. The housing follows inverter size code 10 and weighs 2.8 kg, which helps conserve panel space in multi-axis machines. Its compact enclosure must still be installed with the required ventilation clearances so that generated heat can escape from the surrounding cabinet space.
