The 10.F5.A1D-3A-A is an AC axis drive manufactured by KEB and offered in the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable output for speed or torque regulation of induction motors used in conveyors, pumps, and general machinery. The unit uses a Standard Board control platform, carries inverter size code 10, and is built inside an IP20 open-frame housing suitable for mounting in ventilated control panels. This configuration provides a compact drive stage that can be connected directly to compatible F5 operator interfaces and fieldbus adapters for coordinated motion.
The drive belongs to the 400 V AC voltage class and delivers a continuous output of 4.0 kVA at a rated motor current of 5.8 A. When rapid acceleration or brief overloads occur, the current can rise to a maximum of 10.4 A, while the internal protection circuit trips at 12.5 A to prevent device damage. During typical operation, the input section draws 8 A from the mains and supports motors rated up to 3 HP that operate down to a minimum full-load frequency of 6 Hz. A factory-installed braking transistor controls the dissipation of regenerated energy through the braking path during dynamic stops. The switching devices operate at a carrier frequency that can be set to 4 or 16 kHz to meet acoustic or thermal requirements. Under nominal load, the electronics dissipate 140 W, so enclosure airflow must remove this heat while maintaining adequate ventilation around the open-frame housing. The braking circuit requires a resistor with a minimum resistance of 82 Ω to keep current within the permitted range during repetitive deceleration.
