Product Description:
KEB manufactures the 10.F5.C1B-3A0B as part of its F5 Combivert Axis Drives series, a line of inverters intended to regulate induction or synchronous motors in factory automation. The drive converts the fixed mains frequency into a variable output that lets a PLC command speed, torque, and direction. By housing power electronics and motion-control I/O in one chassis, the device forms the central axis module for conveyors, packaging machines, and similar applications that demand coordinated multi-axis performance.
The drive is built in enclosure class IP20, so the cabinet must provide added protection against dust and moisture. It accepts 3-phase 400 V AC/DC input power and converts it into a rated output of 2.2 kW while delivering a continuous line current of 5.8 A; momentary loads can rise to 12.5 A before current limiting intervenes. Two analog inputs and two analog outputs support speed reference, torque trim, or process feedback, and eight digital inputs let the host controller issue enable, direction, or jog commands. Two relay outputs report faults or ready signals, and the auxiliary signal output is TTL-compatible. An incremental TTL encoder interface on a terminal connector returns position or velocity data to the drive, and size code 10 indicates the mechanical footprint so the unit aligns with other modules on a standard DIN rail.
Protection against motor stall is handled by an overcurrent trip set at 216% of nominal, and the IGBTs switch at 8 kHz to balance acoustic noise with thermal losses. The unit can drive motors up to 3 HP, matching typical pump or small conveyor requirements. An integrated braking transistor enables dynamic energy dissipation during rapid deceleration, eliminating the need for an external chopper. With two relay contacts, the inverter can energize a brake or signal a master control system when motion has stopped.
