Product Description:
The 10.F5.A1D-Y1HA is an axis inverter manufactured by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It controls three-phase induction or synchronous motors in production lines, conveyors, and similar automated stations by modulating the voltage and frequency applied to the motor terminals. The unit accepts 400 V AC mains or a compatible AC or DC link and uses an internal braking transistor with the GTR7 brake chopper to dissipate regenerated energy during rapid deceleration.
Motion commands and feedback are handled through a control stage that samples two analog channels at a 12-bit resolution. The eight digital inputs have a scan time of 1 ms, allowing timely responses to limit switches and sensor edges. Two transistor outputs can source a combined 50 mA total, making them suitable for status lamps or interlock signals. Two form-C relays provide galvanically isolated contacts for higher-power signaling. A dual-purpose feedback port supports a resolver and incremental encoder input, providing rotor position feedback during startup and high-speed pulse tracking while the motor is running. The reference voltage terminal delivers +10 VDC at 4 mA for potentiometer scaling, while a separate +24 V service supply powers external sensors.
The drive’s power section is sized for motors up to 3 HP and can produce 125% of nominal current for short overload periods. An overcurrent trip activates at 150% of nominal current to protect semiconductors and cabling. Torque ripple is minimized by a carrier frequency of 3.4 kHz, while the gate pattern updates at a switching frequency of 4 kHz to balance acoustic noise and efficiency. Cooling relies on the standard internal airflow path to remove heat from the power electronics during operation. The standard control board provides the primary communication and parameter-setting functions without optional extensions.
