Product Description:
The 10.F5.A1D-3AMA is an AC axis drive manufactured by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Acting as a variable-speed inverter, it converts a three-phase mains supply into controlled output pulses that regulate motor speed and torque in automated production lines. The drive supports coordinated motion in packaging stations, conveyors, and similar machinery that use electronic synchronization instead of mechanical gear changes. Its cabinet-mounted format combines motor control, feedback processing, and protective functions in a compact unit.
The drive provides a nominal output of 2.2 kW at a phase current of 5.8 A when connected to a three-phase 400 V AC/DC supply. Its power devices switch at 8 kHz, balancing acoustic noise with dynamic response, while a peak output of 10.4 A provides thermal headroom for brief overloads. Analog feedback to external controllers has a 10-bit resolution, and the analog output pulse stream operates at 3.4 kHz for smooth waveform reconstruction. Digital command inputs have an impedance of 2.1 kΩ and are sampled every 1 ms for consistent signal capture. A standard control board supervises these channels and connects to a Sin/Cos encoder through a 15-pin D-Sub port and a TTL encoder through a 9-pin connector.
Overcurrent protection trips at 216% of nominal current, and the short-term current limit is 180%, helping protect the power semiconductors during motor stalls. An integrated braking transistor dissipates regenerative energy produced during rapid deceleration. The drive uses inverter size code 10 and housing style D for cabinet installation. Its housing relies on convection cooling, and the surfaces are varnished for added protection. These physical features allow airflow around the enclosure while the internal control electronics manage motor output, encoder signals, command inputs, and regenerative braking.
