Product Description:
The 10.F5.A1D-2BGA is an inverter from KEB’s F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It modulates supply frequency and voltage so connected induction or permanent-magnet motors can operate at commanded speeds and torque levels in automated machinery. The inverter can regulate applications such as conveyors, positioning axes, pumps, and other motor-driven equipment that require adjustable motion. Its size code is 10, and an integrated braking transistor supports energy dissipation during rapid deceleration when the drive is connected to a suitable external resistor.
The power section is designed for a nominal line voltage of 230 V AC supplied by single-phase or three-phase AC networks, providing flexibility when only single-phase utility power is available. Internally, insulated-gate bipolar transistors operate at a carrier frequency of 16 kHz, reducing motor noise and producing smoother current waveforms. The inverter has a maximum output current of 18 A, which supports brief periods of elevated demand during acceleration or load changes. Continuous motor output is rated at 3 HP, establishing the sustained mechanical power available for the connected motor. Protective circuits monitor current and temperature so excessive electrical or thermal loading can trigger a controlled response before the power stage is damaged.
The control section samples field signals every 1 ms, allowing responsive velocity and torque regulation for dynamic positioning tasks. Two differential analog channels provide 12-bit resolution for processing pressure, speed, or other analog setpoints with fine signal increments. The controller also has eight digital inputs that support sinking or sourcing operation for start commands, limit switches, and encoder zero marks. Control functions reside on a Standard Board, which includes two analog outputs with 11-bit resolution, two digital outputs, two encoder interfaces, and two Form C relay contacts. Each relay contact is rated for 30 V DC at 1 A, allowing it to switch compatible signaling or control loads. Regenerated energy is directed to the connected braking resistor when the motor decelerates quickly, helping prevent excessive voltage on the internal DC bus.
