Within an automation cell, it conditions incoming power and motor feedback so that commanded motion profiles are reproduced accurately on the machine shaft. By closing the electrical loop between a PLC and a servo or induction motor, the drive supplies regulated voltage and current that translate control words into repeatable speed, position, and torque.
The drive accepts a 3-phase 230 V AC/DC line, and an integrated filter limits conducted emissions on that supply. Its power devices switch at a rated carrier frequency of 4 kHz, a value chosen to reduce acoustic noise while managing thermal stress. Short bursts of load can be handled at 200% of nominal current, whereas the over-current trip activates at 240% to prevent sustained faults. Regenerated energy is routed through the installed braking transistor, and a separate 24 V control input maintains the electronics during main line interruptions.
