The 09.F5.CBB-YA00 is an AC axis drive developed by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Installed inside a cabinet, it modulates voltage and frequency to govern compatible motors in automated conveyors, packaging lines, and material-handling stages. Acting as the drive end of a closed-loop motion chain, it accepts commands from PLCs and converts them into controlled three-phase output suited to repeated duty cycles. This arrangement lets the control system handle machine sequencing while the drive manages real-time motor power delivery.
A three-phase mains supply at 400 VAC feeds the input, and the built-in gG fuse rated 16 A shields the rectifier from faults. Under continuous load, the inverter supplies 4.1 A to the motor, which corresponds to a rated apparent power of 2.8 kVA. Switching devices operate at 8 kHz, balancing audible noise with thermal rise, and the controller can synthesize output frequencies up to 599 Hz for high-speed drives. During acceleration, the current may rise to 7.4 A for a short time, while the integrated brake transistor diverts excess energy to an external resistor. The unit follows the compact control style used in the series, and sensorless algorithms are used because no encoder feedback card is installed.
In application, the inverter can energize machines drawing up to 1.5 kW of mechanical power. Its brake channel tolerates a peak of 7.5 A, provided the resistor is no smaller than 120 Ω, which helps prevent overload of the transistor. Heat generated by the power stack is removed through an aluminum heat sink that may reach 90 °C before the unit derates. The housing has an IP20 rating, so installation must occur inside a ventilated enclosure, with motor leads limited to 1.5 mm². The drive accepts only three-phase input and contains a safety relay that removes torque when an interlock opens.
