The 09.F5.C3B-3A0A is an axis drive module produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. This compact converter controls inverter-duty motors in automated machinery by delivering variable frequency and voltage matched to load demand. Integrated power electronics and a heat sink assembly allow the unit to fit into tight panels while providing precise speed and torque regulation for conveyors, pumps, and coordinated multi-axis assemblies. In automated lines, it can regulate motor behavior during starting, running, and stopping so connected equipment moves with predictable response under changing loads. It is suited to compact machine sections where controlled motor output is needed without adding a large standalone drive package.
The drive accepts a three-phase 400 V AC/DC supply and draws up to 6 A of line current during continuous operation. Its inverter section delivers 2.8 kVA of apparent power and a steady output current of 4.1 A, which is matched to motors rated at 1.5 kW. Heat from the IGBT stage is removed through a dedicated heat sink, so no forced-air module is required. The enclosure measures 90 × 249 × 200 mm, which helps when several axes must be installed in one cabinet. No encoder interface is provided, so the unit relies on sensorless control or on feedback handled elsewhere in the control system. The compact footprint also leaves room for line reactors, protection devices, or neighboring servo components in shallow enclosures.
For dynamic loads, the inverter uses a default carrier frequency of 8 kHz, and it can be raised to 16 kHz when lower acoustic noise or finer current resolution is needed. Short accelerations are supported with a peak phase current of 7.4 A, while overcurrent protection trips at 8.9 A to protect the semiconductors. During deceleration, excess energy is routed to a minimum 120 Ω braking resistor connected to the built-in chopper. The module also includes an integrated braking transistor and EMI filter, which reduces the number of external components needed in the panel. The unit uses housing type B.
