Product Description:
The 09.F5.B3B-0B0A is a digital axis drive produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Intended for industrial automation, the unit converts single-phase 230 VAC or a corresponding DC bus into a regulated three-phase output, letting controllers adjust motor speed and torque in conveyors, packaging stations, and positioning tables. Cooling is handled by a base-mounted heat sink, and the factory-installed braking transistor and EMI filter reduce the number of external components needed in the control cabinet.
During continuous operation, the drive draws a rated input current of 14 A and converts this energy to a rated output power of 2.8 kVA. The inverter feeds the motor with a steady phase current of 7 A, supporting a mechanical output of 1.5 kW at the shaft. A carrier frequency of 16 kHz lowers audible switching noise and improves current control resolution, though it raises thermal loading that must be removed through the heat sink. The single-phase supply option simplifies installation where only utility power or a shared DC link is present, and the 2 kg enclosure keeps panel mass low for multi-axis arrangements.
Dynamic and thermal limits govern the drive’s short-term behavior. The integrated braking circuit handles regeneration through external resistors no smaller than 47 Ω, with 100 Ω used as a typical value; under these conditions, the brake channel tolerates 9.5 A of dissipative current. For acceleration events, the power stage permits a maximum short-time output of 12.6 A, while an overcurrent trip activates at 15.1 A to protect the IGBTs. Reliable service is supported provided the heat-sink temperature stays under 90 °C. The open-frame construction carries an IP20 protection rating, so enclosure mounting is required to guard against dust and accidental contact.
