The 09.F5.B1B-R003 is an AC axis drive module developed by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Intended for installation in a closed control cabinet, the electronic converter interfaces between a three-phase mains supply and an induction or synchronous motor. It delivers regulated voltage and frequency for accurate speed or torque control. In automated production lines, machining centers, and material-handling cells, the drive translates commands from a PLC into controlled motor motion without requiring mechanical speed changers.
The module is designed for 480 V three-phase power and accepts an input range of 305 to 528 V AC, allowing operation despite fluctuations in the incoming supply. Line synchronization supports 50 or 60 Hz with a tolerance of ±2 Hz, so the drive can operate with either common power frequency. Speed regulation uses basic open-loop flux vector control, which calculates the required magnetizing current from configured motor parameters rather than relying on encoder feedback. This method provides responsive motor control while reducing the amount of feedback wiring required for the axis. During rapid deceleration, the integrated braking transistor connects an external braking resistor that converts regenerated electrical energy into heat. This arrangement helps prevent excessive DC-bus voltage when the connected motor slows or stops.
The module uses housing code B, a midsize frame intended for installation in control panels with suitable clearance for power and control wiring. Its output stage provides three output phases ranging from 0 V to the supply voltage and can reach a maximum three-phase output of 3 × 528 V when the incoming line is at its upper limit. This adjustable output allows the connected motor voltage and frequency to follow the requested operating point. The available range supports motors with different voltage requirements within the drive’s permitted power system. Variable output is suitable for conveyors, pumps, and other motor-driven equipment whose speed or torque changes during normal production cycles.
