Product Description:
The 09.F5.ABD-YA0M is an axis inverter drive produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Designed for industrial automation cells, the device converts fixed utility power into a variable voltage and frequency output so that the speed, torque, and direction of an attached AC motor can be regulated with precision. Integrated feedback capability lets the drive synchronize multiple mechanical axes in packaging, material-handling, and continuous-process equipment. This type of control is useful on machines that require steady acceleration, coordinated indexing, and repeatable speed changes across connected axes.
Incoming power may be supplied as AC only or as AC/DC, and the unit is wired for a 3-phase network within the 400 V class. Under nominal load it draws 6 A, so the feeder can be protected with a 16 A main fuse. The Standard Board manages control tasks, while a Sin/Cos interface accepts incremental encoder feedback and a TTL channel forwards auxiliary position pulses. Its inverter stage can supply 4.1 A of continuous current to the motor, modulated by a carrier of 4 kHz. Closed-loop operation is possible from 6 Hz fundamental output upward, and motor leads of 1.5 mm² can be installed without exceeding terminal ratings. The feedback connections support closed-loop correction, allowing the controller to respond quickly to load changes and maintain stable motion.
The power stage converts the DC link energy into 2.8 kVA, which corresponds to 1.5 kW of mechanical output when matched with a suitable motor. Thermal limits are governed by a heat sink temperature that may rise to 90 °C before derating begins, so enclosure airflow must be sized accordingly. The housing carries an IP20 protection class, indicating that the drive must be mounted inside a closed control cabinet. Cabinet installation also helps protect the control section from accidental contact and airborne debris during operation.
