Product Description:
The 09.F5.ABD-3AGA is an axis drive module manufactured by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It functions as a closed-loop inverter that regulates synchronous or induction motors used in positioning and speed-controlled machinery. The unit combines a power section, a standard-board control core, and an incremental encoder interface to process real-time feedback. Its D-style housing supports cabinet mounting, while the varnished surface finish provides basic protection against moisture and airborne contaminants. The module is suitable for automated production cells that require precise motor control and compact installation.
The inverter supplies a continuous motor phase current of 4.1 A, enabling mechanical output of up to 1.5 kW. Its DC link accepts input from a three-phase 400 V AC/DC supply, eliminating the need for an external transformer on a compatible mains network. Pulse-width modulation is factory-set to a rated switching frequency of 8 kHz, balancing electromagnetic losses and torque ripple during normal operation. For applications that require quieter operation, the bridge permits a maximum switching frequency of 16 kHz at a reduced load. Short acceleration periods can draw up to 7.4 A, providing additional torque without continuously increasing thermal stress on the IGBT stack or motor windings.
An overcurrent trip activates at 216% of the rated current to protect the semiconductors and connected cabling. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, so the drive must be installed inside a control cabinet that prevents contact with live components and limits the entry of solid objects. Forced cabinet airflow must match the drive’s standard cooling profile to maintain acceptable operating temperatures. The nonvented D housing simplifies side-by-side mounting, while the encoder connections accept two incremental signals for dual-loop feedback. The drive uses the uniform parameter structure of the Combivert F5 platform, allowing consistent configuration across coordinated axes without changing the basic control layout.
