Product Description:
The 09.F5.A1D-KBVB axis drive is manufactured by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. As a line-powered inverter, it modulates three-phase energy for coordinated motion of industrial motors used on conveyors, gantries, and packaging equipment. The drive implements a basic control profile, providing a straightforward parameter set for speed, torque, or positioning loops. Its type V housing allows mounting in shared cabinets alongside other F5 units without additional airflow hardware, and it accepts AC mains directly. This arrangement simplifies wiring in retrofit applications.
An incremental feedback connector is included, and the encoder interface is Incremental TTL, so phase A, B, and Z signals are delivered in a digital form compatible with the drive logic. The auxiliary signal terminal also outputs TTL, allowing external counters or PLC modules to monitor axis status without signal converters. Dynamic braking energy is routed to an integrated transistor identified as GTR 7, which removes the need for a separate resistor switch and helps keep deceleration cycles predictable. The inverter is designed for a 400 V AC supply and uses a 6-phase input bridge that balances current between two rectifier sections. Power devices switch at 16 kHz, a frequency that reduces audible noise while keeping current ripple within motor insulation limits. Heat is removed through convection cooling, so cabinet airflow must allow vertical heat rise around the fins. All I/O and processor functions are handled by KEB's Standard Board, giving the unit the same parameter map as other sizes in the family.
During overload events, the drive can deliver a short-term current of 400 % of its nominal rating, providing extra torque for rapid indexing or tensioning tasks. Protective logic trips at an overcurrent threshold of 480 %, preventing semiconductor damage if a stall or short circuit occurs. The power section is varnished to guard against conductive dust and moisture, extending service life when ambient air moves through the convection path in mixed manufacturing environments.
