Product Description:
The 09.F5.A1D-3A-A is a modular axis drive produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Designed as a variable-speed controller, the unit regulates the torque and velocity of synchronous or asynchronous motors so conveyor sections, processing heads, or positioning tables can follow programmed motion profiles within industrial automation cells. Its closed-loop control algorithms manage motor operation, while the attached control board links the power stage to higher-level PLCs and other automation equipment.
The installed Standard Board offers five digital inputs, two differential encoder channels, and seventeen spring-clamp terminals, allowing sensor, feedback, and fieldbus wiring to be connected without expansion modules. With a three-phase 400 V AC/DC supply, the inverter delivers up to 1.5 kW of mechanical output power at a continuous phase current of 4.1 A. A carrier frequency of 8 kHz reduces motor noise and provides finer current resolution, while the internal processor refreshes the I/O image every 1 ms to support responsive drive-based positioning. The factory-installed braking transistor connects to an external resistor that dissipates regenerative energy during rapid deceleration. This arrangement prevents excess energy returned by the motor from raising the DC bus voltage beyond the drive’s operating range.
The drive uses a type D housing that measures 90 mm wide, 181 mm deep, and 250 mm high. Its panel-mount enclosure carries an IP20 protection rating and is intended for installation inside a ventilated cabinet. The control electronics accept an auxiliary supply of 24 V DC, allowing bus communication to remain active when the power stage is isolated. During short overloads, the drive can supply motor current up to 180% of nominal current to support demanding acceleration and transient load conditions. An overcurrent trip limit of 216% of nominal current protects the IGBTs from damage when the permitted current threshold is exceeded.
