The 09.F5.A1D-2BMA is an axis drive module produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It manages motor torque, speed, and position in industrial automation cells that rely on coordinated multi-axis motion, such as packaging stations and material-handling gantries. The unit bridges the AC mains and the machine feedback loop, delivering regulated power and accepting dual-encoder feedback so the controller can close velocity and position loops in real time.
The drive supplies a continuous output of 1.5 kW at a rated line current of 7 A, while peak operating demands can be met with 12.6 A before the electronic limiters intervene. A switching frequency of 16 kHz allows fine pulse-width modulation that reduces motor acoustic noise and current ripple. The housing carries an IP20 ingress rating, which confines installation to protected cabinets, and the EMC classification is C1, permitting use on low-emission networks. Current supervision trips the inverter at 216% of rating, giving a margin above the short-time maximum while helping protect the semiconductor stage. During routine operation, the control logic monitors thermal rise and current demand to protect the power section.
The bus accepts 230 V single- or three-phase feeds and tolerates both AC and DC sources, so the same unit can work on utility lines or common DC links. Acceleration reserves are high because the power stage can deliver up to 180 % of rated current for short bursts without exceeding junction limits. Control tasks are executed by the embedded Standard Board, and excess regenerative energy is diverted through the integrated Braking transistor. Encoder channel 1 uses a D-Sub 15-pole connector for SinCos signals, while channel 2 offers a D-Sub 9-pole interface that accepts TTL output encoders. This dual interface lets the axis combine absolute and incremental feedback on the same drive.
