Product Description:
The 09.F5.A1D-2B-A is an AC axis drive module built by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. As a variable-speed inverter, it conditions the plant’s 230 V supply and generates a pulse-width-modulated output that allows controllers to command motor speed, torque, and direction with closed-loop precision. The drive supports accurate positioning and coordinated multi-axis motion in industrial automation systems. Its power conversion capabilities also make it suitable for applications that require regulated operation under changing mechanical loads.
The drive uses a standard control board and offers 2 analog inputs, each with a resolution of 12 bits, allowing precise interpretation of speed or torque commands. Two analog outputs have a resolution of 10 bits and can return process variables to supervisory hardware. Eight digital inputs are polled every 1 ms, allowing the control system to detect limit switches or encoder zero marks with minimal delay. The transistor output bank can sink up to 50 mA DC, providing drive-ready or fault signals to external relays. For motor modulation, the inverter generates a 3.4 kHz carrier at the output stage. The PWM section uses a 16 kHz internal switching clock to balance acoustic noise with efficient operation.
The drive uses a Housing D enclosure with an IP20 protection rating, which shields users from contact with hazardous internal parts while permitting airflow through the unit. It accepts a single-phase or three-phase 230 V supply and meets EMC category C1 requirements for installations connected to low-voltage power networks. Continuous operation is supported at an output current of 7 A, while short-duration loads can draw up to 12.6 A. A built-in braking transistor manages regenerated energy during rapid deceleration and helps prevent excessive DC-bus voltage. With a motor rating of up to 1.5 kW, the inverter can power compact conveyors, packaging axes, and auxiliary pumps. Its cabinet-mounted format allows the surrounding enclosure to provide appropriate spacing, ventilation, and wiring access for the connected motor and control circuits.
