The 09.F5.M3D-Y0EA is an axis drive module produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. In multi-axis automation cells, this unit converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable output that governs induction or servo motors, allowing coordinated speed and torque control. By integrating drive and I/O functions, it simplifies panel layouts and supports precise motion sequences on assembly lines, packaging equipment, and material-handling systems.
The drive accepts a three-phase supply of 400 V AC, so it can be wired directly to standard European industrial power networks or to rectified AC/DC bus links. Its continuous output rating is 1.5 kW at a phase current of 4.1 A, which sets the motor size it can regulate without derating. A carrier switching frequency of 2 kHz balances acoustic noise against dynamic current control, while the program cycle executes every 1 ms to sample field variables, update vector algorithms, and service embedded I/O. Two analog inputs and two analog outputs allow speed, torque, or process values to be exchanged as ±10 V signals, and two relay outputs provide dry contact status for system interlocks. The unit uses twenty-nine screw terminals for this signal set, and it also includes a pre-installed braking transistor and EMI filter to discharge regenerated energy and suppress conducted emissions.
During transient acceleration, the F5 module supplies a short-time current of 125% of IN, and it trips on overcurrent at 150% of IN to protect both drive and motor. Motion commands can be gated through 8 digital inputs and returned by 2 digital outputs, enabling step, enable, or home signals without external PLC delay. The integrated feedback port supports a Resolver + Incremental Output, so either absolute rotor angle or high-resolution pulses can be delivered to the control loop for smooth low-speed performance and accurate positioning.
