Product Description:
The 09.F5.M1D-3A5A is an axis drive manufactured by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Designed for industrial automation, it interfaces with induction motors and uses field-oriented vector control so that speed and torque follow motion commands issued by higher-level controllers. The device acts as a power modulator, converting a fixed three-phase supply into a regulated output that supports coordinated movement on conveyors, pick-and-place heads, or winding equipment. Its closed-loop control architecture allows the drive to regulate motor behavior as operating conditions and mechanical loads change.
Electrical performance centers on a continuous output of 1.5 kW delivered at a rated current of 4.1 A. Transient demands can reach 7.4 A without exceeding the applicable thermal limits. The input section accepts a three-phase 400 V AC/DC input, and the IGBTs switch at 8 kHz to minimize current ripple in the motor windings. Vector regulation is executed by closed-loop field-oriented control, while a factory-installed GTR 7 braking transistor dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration. The overcurrent trip threshold is set at 216 percent of the rated output, protecting the semiconductors from fault-related current spikes. Standard varnished cooling channels conduct heat to the housing, which uses cooling code D for this frame size.
The housing measures 90 mm wide and 250 mm high, with a depth of 181 mm. Rotor feedback on channel 1 is wired through a 15-pole D-Sub connector and uses a resolver to supply position information to the control board. Channel 2 provides an SSI pathway through a 9-pole D-Sub connector, and its serial protocol is an SSI input. These encoder interfaces connect the drive control board to external position transducers without requiring additional breakout modules. The separate feedback channels allow resolver and serial position signals to be routed through dedicated connectors, keeping the control wiring organized within an industrial enclosure.
