Product Description:
The 09.F5.ABD-3AQA axis drive is manufactured by KEB and belongs to the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts three-phase mains power into a variable-frequency output so motion controllers can regulate motor speed, position, and process throughput in industrial automation cells. Designed for panel mounting, the drive coordinates individual axes while maintaining diagnostic access through a standard control board. Its control architecture accommodates the low-voltage command and status signals commonly exchanged with programmable logic controllers and other automation equipment.
The standard board provides 29 low-voltage control terminals for digital and analog signals. Eight digital inputs are scanned every 1 ms, and each channel has an input impedance of 2.1 kΩ for PLC compatibility. Two analog input channels are sampled at 12-bit resolution. The analog outputs deliver a pulse-width-modulated signal at 3.4 kHz that is reconstructed as a voltage with a nominal range of -10 V to +10 V and 10-bit resolution. A stabilized reference of +10 VDC ±5% is available for external potentiometers. The board provides auxiliary logic power through a 24 V rail capable of supplying up to 100 mA, while the open-collector status lines share a combined capacity of 50 mA DC. The low-power electronics use standard cooling, and a varnished coating protects the assembly against conductive dust.
Power is supplied through a three-phase 400 V AC/DC bus, and the inverter switches this supply at a carrier frequency of 8 kHz to produce the required motor voltage. The drive can tolerate short mechanical overloads of up to 180% of rated current, allowing the axis to accelerate inertial loads for brief periods. The electronic overcurrent trip activates at 216% of rated current to protect the insulated-gate bipolar transistor bridge. A short-duration current boost supports rapid acceleration without requiring continuous operation at the overload limit. Internal thermal monitoring restricts sustained output when operating conditions would cause excessive component temperatures. The coated electronics and standard airflow path help protect the control circuits while heat generated by the power stage is removed from the enclosure.
