Product Description:
The 08.56.200 drive is produced by KEB as part of the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It is an inverter module that conditions incoming three-phase mains power and generates a regulated three-phase output for induction or synchronous motors used in conveying, packaging, and positioning equipment. Within an automation cell, it receives speed references from a higher-level controller and modulates the motor voltage and frequency to match torque demand. This operation simplifies motion control and reduces mechanical stress on connected machinery.
The continuous output phase current is limited to 5.5 A, and the apparent power associated with this current reaches 2.2 kVA under rated conditions. Upstream protection is split between a control-side fuse rated at 0.4 A and 500 V and a DC-link fuse rated at 10 A and 500 V. These devices isolate faults in the logic circuit and intermediate circuit, respectively. The accepted mains frequency range is 50/60 ±2 Hz, allowing direct connection to standard industrial power grids without supplementary converters. Once the input is rectified, the inverter synthesizes a variable three-phase output from zero volts up to the mains voltage to meet the requirements of a three-phase AC motor. A maximum 20 A mains fuse protects the supply conductors.
The drive can supply up to 1.1 kW of motor output power, making it suitable for smaller axes or auxiliary functions on multi-axis machines. Operation is permitted at altitudes up to 3000 m, subject to the applicable cooling and output derating requirements at higher elevations. The housing has an IP00 rating, so it must be installed inside a closed electrical cabinet that prevents accidental contact with live or moving parts. Power terminals accept copper conductors with cross-sectional areas of 2.5 mm², supporting common industrial wiring methods. Appropriate cabinet ventilation must maintain acceptable operating temperatures while allowing enough clearance around the drive for heat dissipation. The cabinet should also protect the exposed drive components from dust, moisture, tools, and other conductive objects.
