This arrangement provides variable frequency and voltage control so the drive can regulate speed and torque on automated conveyors, feeders, and positioning axes. The module is suited to machine layouts that need compact axis-level power conversion within a cabinet-mounted system.
The drive accepts a 3-phase 400 VAC supply or a DC bus and relies on a heat-sink conduction path to remove internal losses. Because an encoder interface is not provided, closed-loop speed feedback must be handled by the connected controller rather than by the drive itself. The built-in braking transistor and EMI filter reduce the number of external components and help support cabinet EMC performance. Under continuous duty, the inverter delivers an output apparent power of 1.8 kVA with 2.6 A of rated current and supports motors up to 0.75 kW. Carrier pulses are generated at 16 kHz, and the synthesized output can be modulated from zero up to 599 Hz to match the operating range required by the motor. The housing has an IP20 protection rating, which provides finger-safe construction for installation inside a closed panel.
Dynamic braking and thermal limits must be observed during operation. During deceleration, the internal transistor can channel up to 7.5 A into an external resistor no smaller than 120 Ω, which helps protect the DC link from overvoltage. For transient acceleration or load shocks, the inverter can supply 4.7 A of short-time phase current before returning to the continuous rating. Junction losses contribute up to 90 W of heat during operation. If the heat-sink surface reaches 90 °C, the drive must be shut down to prevent overheating of the power section. These operating limits are important when the module is used on axes with frequent braking, repeated acceleration, or limited cabinet airflow.
