The 07.F5.B1B-RA02 is an axis drive unit produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The device functions as an inverter that regulates motor torque and speed for coordinated axes in industrial automation lines. By converting fixed mains power into a variable output, it allows precise positioning, acceleration, and braking of servo or induction motors under PLC command. It uses the B housing style and a BASIC control platform, making it suitable for applications that need standard parameter sets without optional fieldbus modules.
The power section accepts a nominal 480 V three-phase supply, so the drive connects directly to common North American industrial mains. For facilities that experience voltage swings, the converter tolerates an input range of 305–528 V AC, preventing nuisance trips during low or high supply conditions. The control electronics operate with a line frequency of 50/60 ± 2 Hz, enabling use with different power networks without hardware changes. Fieldbus and local I/O signals are monitored with a 2 ms scan time, providing deterministic response times for motion loops. A dedicated counter channel registers encoder or pulse references up to 250 Hz, supporting speed-feedback tasks such as spindle orientation or material length measurement.
The drive has 17 control terminals that provide the hardwired interface for start, stop, reference, and fault signals. The internal control board is powered by an isolated 24 V DC supply, so drive parameters remain accessible even when the main bus is de-energized. Dynamic deceleration energy is routed through an integrated braking transistor that operates with the GTR 7 chopper module, protecting the DC link when motors stop rapidly.
