The 07.F5.A1D-2B-A is an axis drive module produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts a fixed single-phase supply into variable frequency and voltage for controlling small induction motors with outputs up to 0.75 kW. This conversion allows the drive to adjust motor speed and torque in packaging machines, conveyors, indexing tables, and other automated equipment. A factory-installed braking transistor enables the unit to dissipate regenerative energy through an external resistor. The standard control board supports the analog and digital signals commonly used for PLC motion commands.
The drive accepts a nominal input of 230 V and delivers a continuous output current of 4 A to the motor terminals. Internally, insulated-gate bipolar transistors operate at a 16 kHz switching frequency, reducing audible motor noise and improving torque linearity at low speeds. The drive reaches a rated apparent power of 1.6 kVA, making it suitable for applications that require moderate shaft power without an oversized electrical feeder. Its type D housing has an IP20 open-chassis design that protects against accidental contact with larger solid objects but does not provide water protection. The unit must therefore be installed inside a protected cabinet that maintains suitable cleanliness while providing sufficient access for wiring and cooling airflow.
Dynamic braking is coordinated through the integrated transistor and supports up to 7.5 A of deceleration current. An external braking resistor must have a minimum resistance of 56 Ω to prevent excessive current and power dissipation during motor deceleration. An overcurrent trip activates at 8.6 A to protect the power stage, while a short-term overload current of 7.2 A is permitted during acceleration. Thermal management limits internal power loss to 100 W, and the drive issues a warning if the heat sink temperature rises above 90 °C. Full-load regulation remains available down to 6 Hz, allowing the motor to produce useful torque at low speeds without encoder feedback. At standstill, the permitted current level helps the drive maintain motor torque while keeping power components within their operating limits.
