The 07.F5-CBB-YA53 axis drive is produced by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. As a compact inverter for a single mechanical axis, it modulates voltage and frequency to command AC motors deployed in conveyors, packaging stations, and indexing tables. By combining power electronics with user-programmable I/O in one housing, it handles acceleration, deceleration, and fault monitoring tasks that would otherwise require multiple discrete devices in an automation cabinet.
An external 24 V DC control supply keeps the processor active for parameter retention and fieldbus diagnostics even when the mains contactor is open. Two analog inputs are digitized with 12-bit resolution, and the drive completes a full I/O scan every 2 ms, allowing tight velocity loops for pick-and-place motion. The drive offers 8 digital inputs, two digital transistor outputs, and two relay contacts for status signaling. Drive cooling and component spacing provide an IP20 protection class suited to closed control panels. The inverter section is rated for 0.75 kW of continuous motor power. Housing type B gives the unit a consistent mounting footprint, and the compact control type helps minimize cabinet depth.
Safety functions are executed by an integrated safety relay that interrupts gate signals when an emergency stop circuit opens, removing the need for an external contactor block. Regenerated energy produced during fast deceleration is channeled through the internal brake transistor, preventing DC-bus overvoltage and shortening stop times. The eight control inputs can be wired as sourcing or sinking because the terminals accept PNP/NPN logic, which simplifies retrofit into mixed-signal panels. Two analog outputs broadcast speed or torque feedback to a supervisory PLC, completing the local control loop without extra interface cards.
