KEB manufactures the 07.F5.B3A-ZA00 drive as part of the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. This unit is an inverter-based axis drive intended to regulate induction or permanent-magnet motors in automated machinery, providing closed-loop speed and torque control across single motion axes. By converting fixed mains power into a variable-frequency, variable-voltage output, the drive coordinates motor behavior with programmable logic controllers and field I/O, supporting repeatable positioning, tensioning, and conveyor duties common to packaging, material handling, and general factory lines.

For electrical interfacing, the drive accepts a line supply of 230 V, delivers a continuous output of 4 A, and supports motors up to 0.75 kW at a carrier frequency of 8 kHz. One analog input and one analog output provide scalable references or feedback, while five digital inputs and two relay outputs allow on/off sequencing, fault signaling, and contactor control. Internal processing updates field variables every 2 ms, aligning the inverter with fast PLC cycles. These real-time resources are coordinated through the Combivert parameter set, enabling proportional speed commands, torque limits, and process interlocks without external expansion cards.

Transient demands are handled by a peak phase current of 8.6 A that accommodates accelerations or short overloads. The housing carries an IP20 rating, so installation must occur in a protected cabinet with forced ventilation. Dynamic stopping energy is dissipated through the factory-integrated GTR7 braking chopper; the associated braking transistor and EMI filter are already wired, reducing panel assembly time. No encoder feedback card is installed, allowing the user to select a suitable option or rely on sensorless vector algorithms when feedback is unnecessary.
