By converting incoming electrical power into precisely modulated output phases, it allows control systems to execute repeatable motion profiles, manage acceleration ramps, and coordinate multiple axes in industrial equipment. In automated lines, that helps upstream controls keep conveyors, transfer stations, and positioning axes synchronized during changing load conditions.
The drive accepts an input supply of AC/DC, which allows connection to a rectified common DC bus or direct line input. This gives the unit flexibility in systems that use centralized DC distribution as well as conventional AC-fed installations. A factory-installed Standard Board handles logic processing, I/O, and parameter storage, so no additional expansion card is required for baseline operation. Power devices switch at 8 kHz, which helps reduce audible noise and motor current ripple while increasing switching losses in the power stage. The current protection circuit permits an overcurrent excursion of up to 216% of the nominal value, and the power section can deliver a short-time output current of 180% during rapid acceleration, startup torque peaks, and other brief load spikes before returning to continuous operation.
The unit uses a D housing, which provides a frame size suited to consistent cabinet installation and organized panel spacing. The enclosure format helps the drive fit predictable mounting spaces in multi-axis cabinets. Feedback compatibility includes incremental resolver signals and absolute position data over Resolver / SSI, allowing the same controller to work with legacy feedback devices as well as higher-resolution encoders. For dynamic braking and safety functions, the accessory slot can be equipped with a Braking Transistor and Safety Relay, so controlled deceleration and emergency stop circuits can be integrated without separate external hardware. Conveyors, gantries, and similar axes can use these functions when braking control and mixed encoder support are required.
