The 05.F5.B1B-R001 is an axis drive module engineered by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It serves as the power and control interface between a three-phase mains supply and asynchronous or synchronous motors in automated machinery. It converts the mains into controlled output that enables closed-loop speed and torque regulation for conveyor, packaging, and material-handling systems.
The drive is designed for industrial power systems that provide a nominal 480 V three-phase feed, and it tolerates a wide 305–528 V AC input range at 50/60 Hz ±2 Hz. The inverter section delivers three-phase output from 0 V up to the supply voltage, permitting motor voltages up to 528 V. Internal power devices switch at 2 kHz, balancing harmonic content with thermal loading. Field wiring lands on 17 control terminals, and the logic scheme is PNP so sourcing inputs can be used directly. One 11-bit analog input and one 11-bit analog output support proportional speed or process signals, while five digital inputs handle start, direction, or preset selection. Two relay outputs offer galvanic isolation for device-ready or fault contacts. No encoder interface is provided, so feedback must be taken from the motor connection when required.
For dynamic events, the power stage can exceed nominal load with 125% short-time current, and protection trips at 150% OC trip to safeguard semiconductors. Reaction to field commands is quick, and the controller samples all I/O with a 2 ms scan time, allowing timely status updates. A factory-installed braking transistor works with the GTR7 chopper to dissipate regenerative energy, eliminating the need for an external resistor switch. Because an external 24 V supply is not required, all control electronics are powered from the mains link. The drive’s relay pair carries status signals through contacts certified to 30 VDC / 1 A.
