Product Description:
The 05.F5.A1A-2E2F axis drive is manufactured by KEB within the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Designed for cabinet installation, the drive provides closed-loop speed and torque control for three-phase motors in automated production cells, packaging lines, and material-handling systems. It rectifies the plant supply, creates a high-frequency PWM output, and coordinates motor operation through onboard logic so the motion section follows commands issued by the machine controller. Its compact A-size housing minimizes panel depth while leaving connectors accessible for quick wiring and routine service.
The standard control board accepts analog references with a resolution of 12-bit, allowing the speed loop to resolve fine setpoint steps without dithering. Internally, the inverter switches at a carrier frequency of 8 kHz, lowering motor acoustic energy and smoothing current ripple. Rated continuous output reaches 2.3 A, matching a shaft power of 0.37 kW when the connected motor operates at nominal speed. The chassis carries an IP20 protection rating, which permits mounting inside a ventilated electrical cabinet. Safety functions are integrated: earth-fault and short-circuit monitoring disable the drive within the 1 ms digital input scan time, and EMC class C1 compliance limits conducted emissions on public networks.
Further interface signals support integration with PLCs. An analog output is produced by a PWM generator running at 3.4 kHz, which can be filtered to give a proportional speed or torque voltage for feedback purposes. External command potentiometers are powered by a +10 VDC reference supplied on the terminal strip. During acceleration or regenerative events, the power stage can deliver up to 4.1 A, while an internal braking transistor routes excess energy to a resistor. All control and power circuits are designed for the 230 V AC voltage class, and differential TTL ports plus a Hiperface encoder interface handle high-resolution feedback without additional converter cards.
