The 05.F5.CBB-3B0A axis drive is produced by KEB as part of the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It serves as the power converter between the plant mains and a matched servomotor, regulating speed and torque through vector control so that automated conveyors, positioning stations, or small process pumps follow the required motion profile with repeatable accuracy. The unit accepts standard factory supply power and routes conditioned output to the motor. Embedded protection functions monitor temperature conditions and stop circuits during operation, which supports stable motion in compact automated equipment.
On the line side, the drive is designed for a supply of 400 V AC delivered across a three-phase network. At that voltage, it draws an input rated current of 1.8 A and converts it to a motor-side rated output of 1.3 A. The internal IGBT bridge switches at 16 kHz, which reduces audible noise and supports finer current regulation at low speeds. Continuous mechanical power reaches 0.37 kW, while the apparent power on the mains is 0.9 kVA under nominal loading. The controller can be programmed down to a minimum full-load frequency of 6 Hz, allowing centrifugal machines to start smoothly without excessive inrush and helping maintain controlled low-speed operation.
An integrated brake transistor channels excess DC energy into an external resistor. The module can force up to 2.2 A through that path, provided the resistor value is not lower than 390 Ω. This arrangement helps manage regenerated energy during deceleration instead of allowing the DC bus voltage to rise unchecked. Heat from normal switching is removed through the dedicated heat-sink cooler, and total loss power is limited to 60 W. The maximum heat-sink surface temperature is 90 °C, so cabinet airflow must keep the unit within that limit during operation. Protection on the supply side includes a 16 A main fuse, and an integrated safety relay permits immediate torque removal when an emergency-stop chain opens.
