Product Description:
KEB supplies the 00.F5.0C1-4010 as an encoder feedback cable tailored for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. The assembly links a position transducer on the machine axis to the drive, carrying incremental and serial data so the controller can close the speed and position loops without additional interface boards. By matching the electrical and mechanical conventions used across the Combivert platform, the cable simplifies installation in industrial automation cells that depend on precise motion coordination.
The cable has a length of 10 m, providing adequate reach between a motor-mounted encoder and a cabinet-mounted drive while remaining within the signal integrity limits of the EnDat protocol. Its conductors support the EnDat synchronous serial interface, allowing absolute position information and parameter data to travel over a bidirectional line pair without separate incremental tracks. Drive-side communication uses an auxiliary RS485 channel within the same sheath, supporting diagnostic communication and keypad mirroring. At the inverter, the harness terminates in a female 15-pin high-density D-Sub X3A connector that attaches directly to the F5 control board without an adapter bracket. Power for the sensor is provided through a dedicated pair that delivers +5.0 V, supplying the reference voltage required by compatible optical or magnetic encoders.
Rather than using a 15-pin D-Sub shell at the encoder end, the assembly uses a circular connector that withstands vibration on moving axes. This encoder-side plug has a 17-pin contact pattern, providing separate contacts for clock, data, a temperature probe, and the optional RS485 link while maintaining shielding. The supply rails can provide up to 300 mA, allowing digital encoders with integrated LEDs or memory chips to draw stable current without overloading the drive regulator. No encoder feedback card is required inside the inverter because the Combivert F5 main board accepts the EnDat data stream through the X3A port. This direct connection reduces the number of internal components and preserves available space within the control cabinet.
