The 00.F5.060-5014 servo inverter is built by KEB as part of the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. It converts three-phase mains power into a modulated output that controls motor torque and speed in packaging lines, material-handling systems, and other industrial automation cells. An integrated display and membrane keyboard allow local parameter entry without external tools, while the installed EMI filter and power factor control simplify integration into electrical cabinets. The drive communicates over the CANopen fieldbus to support coordinated multi-axis motion and the exchange of operating data with a central controller.
The embedded CANopen interface follows the ISO/DIS 11898 high-speed physical layer and supports a maximum data rate of 1000 Kbit/s for time-critical coordination. To provide the proper line impedance, the bus must be terminated with an external 124 Ω resistor at the final node. Process data are exchanged through the first high-speed process data object, which the drive refreshes every 25 ms by default to provide cyclic access to torque, speed, and status words. Potential separation uses safe disconnection in accordance with VDE 0160, helping protect the control electronics from faults originating in the mains circuit. CAN telegrams use an 8-byte payload limit, which accommodates the compact command and status values required for real-time drive control.
During initialization, the drive starts with a default bit rate of 20 Kbit/s, allowing a network connection to be established before faster communication settings are selected. The physical connection uses a 5-pole terminal strip at connector X6d. Its pins are assigned as follows: pin 1 is V-, pin 2 is CAN_L, pin 3 is the shield, pin 4 is CAN_H, and pin 5 is V+. When an alternative process data channel is required, the second process data object transmits every 100 ms, reserving the faster channel for more time-sensitive control information. The controller initially appears on the bus with a node ID of 255, which must be changed to prevent an addressing conflict with other connected devices. These adjustable communication parameters allow the primary and secondary data channels to carry control commands, operating values, and diagnostic information at different update intervals.
