Product Description:
The 00.F5.060-3W00 is a communication option produced by KEB for the F5 Combivert Axis Drives series. Installed in a drive’s control slot, the module connects the drive to a PROFIBUS-DP fieldbus so PLCs can exchange cyclic data with the axis in automated machinery. By translating internal parameter words into standardized telegrams, it allows the drive to participate as a remote I/O device within PROFIBUS networks used throughout industrial automation. This arrangement supports centralized control while keeping time-sensitive axis data available to the network controller.
The board supports a maximum network speed of 12.5 MBaud on the RS485 physical layer, and automatic baud detection synchronizes the receiver without manual adjustment. Up to 32 devices can share the segment, with each device connected through two 9-pin D-Sub connectors that simplify daisy-chain wiring. The selected bus protocol is PROFIBUS-DP, so parameter access follows DP-V0 telegram rules while maintaining deterministic timing. The default node address is 1, but rotary switches on the printed circuit board allow reassignment when several drives occupy the same line. The hardware accepts as many as 17 expansion modules within an F5 rack. No encoder feedback card is fitted because the slot is dedicated solely to fieldbus communication.
Cyclic process data consisting of 4 bytes in and 4 bytes out is exchanged every 1 ms, while acyclic transfers move 8-byte parameter channels with 4-byte read granularity for configuration tasks. User data areas start at 12 bytes, and the controller returns 6 bytes of diagnostic information through the HSP5 service port. Voltage for the logic side comes from the drive’s internal 24 V DC supply. The daughterboard carries an integrated EMI filter and power factor control stage that reduces conducted emissions on the bus cable. These functions operate directly from the installed communication board without requiring a separate external interface.
